The other day I came across an article on http://www.dailybloggr.com telling me all about a new scam on facebook.

Many have fallen for this scam which claims all sorts of rewards and special things will be happening to you – here’s how it works…

You get an email inviting you to join the facebook gold group – who wouldn’t want to join a golden group huh? Once you have done this however you will then be tasked with a number of things turning your account into a “golden account”. Sounds innocent enough huh? Wait a minute if you change your status to look gold and then tell all your friends to do it, what’s the point? You will all be golden clones -  oh nice… hey wait I am unique.

That’s just it – there is no magical thing that is going to happen, you are spreading an idea that doesn’t exist and giving your friends a false message, so spam has happened on a mass scale, the spam of the golden facebook account.
